Sit comfortably with an upright but relaxed spine.
Establish natural breathing.
Begin the technique gently.
Keep inhalation and exhalation comfortable.
Do not force or extend retention.
Stop if dizzy, distressed, or uncomfortable.
Finish with natural breathing.
Keep the breath easy; never hold or force it.
Be cautious with breath retention if blood pressure is a concern.
Advanced practice: only attempt this with qualified instruction.
Practise with a teacher present until the shape is familiar.
Increase duration or complexity gradually; introduce ratios and retentions only with competent instruction.
